January 2025 Newsletter: Advanced Markup, Assign Resources, and more!
Recap of key Product Releases from November-December.
- Advanced Markup is here! It's a more robust markup and proofing tool that supports more file types, including video, all within the Workzone experience. Advanced Markup is included in all Enterprise licenses at no additional cost and will be auto-enabled in all Workzone Enterprise sites on Friday, February 14th. If you’d like to experience the new features sooner, just reply here and let us know! We’ve also created a FAQ document to help you transition. Check out our FAQs
- All Notifications page - A brand new page that makes it easier to view, filter, and sort your Workzone notifications like never before.
- Assign Resources - A new function that allows project creators to easily swap out templated resource users in new projects with just a few clicks.
- Holiday Gifts - In case you missed it, we got in the spirit throughout the holiday season and “gifted” several customer-requested enhancements, including a new function to log and track invoices on projects!
New Features Coming this Quarter
- Our native Slack integration is right around the corner! With this integration, your Workzone notifications will be delivered directly to you in a Workzone app that appears in the Slack sidebar. We’ll have more updates to share on this in the coming weeks!
- New External Approval feature - alongside our existing document approval functionality, it will be possible to request approval from people who are not registered users of Workzone. These external approvers will be able to see the file and log their approval response on a new publicly accessible approval page.
- New Integrations to streamline your work, keep your eyes peeled for more on these soon!
- Microsoft Teams - to receive your Workzone notifications
- Quickbooks - to sync time entries from Workzone
- Google Calendar - to display Workzone tasks
- PowerBI - to use Workzone data in reports and visualizations.
- New Boards View of Projects - a new visual way of organizing and addressing your work to be done. This will make it possible to view your existing project data in a board view right within the Projects module. Tasks will appear as cards making it possible to update them by dragging them to different lists.
Things we’re exploring
- Out of Office Conflict Report - This new function will make it possible for users to log their upcoming days off within Workzone. The report will then compare those dates with the dates a user is scheduled to work on a task and flag any conflicts. Project managers will now have a much clearer sense of what tasks need to be rescheduled or reassigned in order to keep projects moving smoothly.
- Campaigns - We are exploring enhanced ways of organizing and reporting on Campaigns, with the goal making it easier for multiple projects to be grouped together and treated as a single campaign.
- We’re also exploring better ways for Workzone to better support multi-department use. For example, how could Workzone make it easier for a marketing department and operations department to co-exist within a single Workzone site.
