August 2024 Newsletter: Revenue Recognition, Notifications Enhancements, and more!

It's been just a month and a half since the release of Multi-Factor Authentication and we're back with some more exciting updates for you all! As always, many of these updates were a direct result of feedback from our users, so if there's anything we can do to better support you, please let us know!

What's New

  • Revenue Recognition Report — A brand new report that shows expenses over the lifetime of a project or within a given timeframe, relying on Time Tracking, Labor Rates, and Expense Tracking features for projects. Check out this quick video to learn more:



  • Send Notifications to Alternate Email Addresses — We're continuing to work toward creating native integrations with tools like Slack and Teams, though these integrations require an extended timeline to fully develop. Meanwhile, we've made receiving your Workzone notifications in Slack/Teams and other platforms easy. Workzone now supports sending notification emails to alternate email addresses, so any platform receiving emails can receive Workzone notifications!



  • Updates to the To-Do List:
    • The filters now allow for multiple categories to be selected at once and for any number between 1 and 90 to be entered into the "Dates" filter. (Great ideas Ismeralda and Ashley!)



    • Project Tags can now be displayed beneath project names.  



  • Updates to Custom Project Reports:
    • Excel exports are no longer capped at 500 rows.
    • There are new columns to display the date on which a project reached 100% completion along with a "date completed variance" column to mirror the functionality of the Completed Projects report. (Thanks for the input on this Corrinne!)



  • Other updates:
    • The Project Priority field can now be set as a default and required field on the Add Project page. (Thanks for the feedback Meridith and Corrinne!)
    • There is now an option on the Boards Settings page to allow Reviewers to add cards to boards. (Great idea Javier!)



    • There are new "Row Number" and "Predecessor" columns that display dependencies between tasks. (Thanks for working on this with us Bhavi!)



What We're Working On / Exploring Now

We have a few exciting upcoming product releases to look out for in the coming months!

  • Integration with a 3rd-party Proofing platform (late September) — We're about to begin development on a native integration with a proofing platform that will bring advanced annotation capability (annotating documents, videos, etc., free draw, text highlight, comparing of proofs, and more!) to Workzone. Stay tuned for more information!
  • Out-of-office designation and scheduling conflict report (late October) — We plan to create a new user setting to identify when a user will be out of the office. A report highlighting scheduling conflicts will reflect how out of office time compares to existing project schedules.
