July 2023 Newsletter: A variety of new enhancements

We've been hard at work these past couple of months releasing a variety of new enhancements to different areas of Workzone. Beyond that, we've begun work on a visual redesign for Workzone! Read on to learn more about recent updates along with some preliminary screenshots of our new look.

What's New

• Projects
  • Users can now customize their own Fields to Display settings in the Task List and Gantt Chart to display columns that differ from the company defaults.
  • Project Tags can now be added/removed from projects using Edit Multiple.
  • There is a new "Email Project Responsible" option on the Add Project page, enabled via the Fields to Display settings, that will trigger a notification to any assigned Project Responsible parties as soon as the project is created.
  • The "All Comments" tab of the project tray now includes an Excel icon making it possible to export all user and system comments for a project.
• Boards
  • Quickly add new cards or lists to a Board by clicking "Save" or hitting return on your keyboard to reveal new blank cards or lists. Click "Cancel" or hit escape on your keyboard to dismiss the new items.
  • The Add Multiple Cards option in a list's more menu now offers the option to select the swimlane into which the new cards will be added.
  • The Recent Assignments report will now show newly assigned cards. Columns for Board and List can be displayed via the report's column settings.
  • The To-Do List column settings now have options for Board and List. Also, card start/end dates can now be edited directly on the To-Do List. 
• Reports
  • The Custom Reports have been overhauled to reduce visual clutter make filtering easier and more intuitive. 
  • A new # of projects by create date report has been created in the Enhanced Reporting Dashboards.
• Other
  • The comment Rich Text Editor now includes the option to choose font and background colors. 
  • Closed approvals now show response icons (thumbs up/down) along with counts for each response type.
  • The Notifications Inbox how has a new format for threaded responses as well as notifications for emoji reactions.
  • The See What They See feature has been expanded to allow Admins to log in as Managers and Contributors. 

What We're Working On / Exploring Now

• A new look for Workzone. We’re overhauling the general look and feel of Workzone to be more light and modern. Here are some examples of how the Task List, To-Do List and Project To-Do List will look:

• Before this goes live (likely in a few months), we’ll give you a chance to view and use your actual data using a beta version of the new interface. We welcome your thoughts at any time on what you like and don’t like about what you see.

• Boards reporting. We continue to invest in enhancing Boards functionality. Upcoming enhancements will include reporting on new card assignments and completed cards. Let us know if you have a board-related report that you’d like to see.
