November 2022 Newsletter: Introducing "Dateless Tasks"
We're excited to announce that Workzone now allows tasks without dates! Read on to learn more about this major enhancement and other recent improvements!
What's New
Dateless Tasks While Workzone previously required all tasks to have dates, this update makes it possible to create and use dateless tasks. In fact, tasks created with the Outliner and Placeholder task-creation methods, as well as via our API, will be dateless by default. Additionally, templates — even those that contain dates — can be deployed without dates. We've implemented this change to make it easier and more intuitive to create and manage new project plans. While task dates will not be required going forward, project management is typically most effective when tasks have dates, in order to hold the team accountable to specific deadlines. There are many great things you can do with dateless tasks, as well as a few restrictions. Read the knowledge base article to learn the details.

What We're Working On / Exploring Now [target release]
The Dateless Tasks enhancement took a bit longer than expected. Here's the revised schedule of upcoming major enhancements:
Repeating projects. Use a template to schedule a project every week, month, quarter, or year. [Dec/Jan]
Project tags. Add tags to projects to group/filter them -- by campaign, those that need special attention, etc. [Jan/Feb]
Project baselines. Compare the current version of a project schedule to a previous baseline version to identify significant variances from the planned schedule. [Enterprise license, Feb/Mar]
