Comments Update - August 2022
This release brings several big changes to commenting in Workzone. Attached-Item Comment Notifications will now automatically notify users who are subscribed to projects and tasks of conversations occurring on attached items, like documents or requests, for example. Comment Threading will help to keep multiple conversations on an item better organized. And, lastly, new Unread Indicators will now appear in comments threads so users can quickly find - and react to - newly added comments.

Attached-Item Comment Notifications
NOTE: In email notifications where a user is not directly subscribed to the item that received the comment (as described above), unsubscribe links in those email notifications will have no impact on a user continuing to receive email notifications from a specifically attached item, if they continue to be subscribed to the project or task where that item is attached.
Threading
Workzone now has a means of uniquely displaying comments that are intended to serve as a response to an existing comment. With threaded comments, ALL reply comments (including email replies and Notifications Inbox replies) are now indented (or nested) to make those replies visually distinct when reviewing the conversation.

You can reply in threaded format by clicking the "Reply in thread" arrow icon found when the cursor hovers overs on an existing comment, as seen in the details tray (when the cursor is hovering) here:

...and in the Notifications Inbox, as seen here:

After entering the text of your comment in the box that displays, click the Save or Send button.
Replying from the Notifications Inbox or from an email notification (using email reply) will automatically cause those replies to be in a thread. If, instead, the comment should not be nested, you'll need to visit the comments area to do so.
NOTE: Replying to a threaded reply will simply continue on in the existing thread. There are not multiple levels of threading.
Unread Indicators
To help identify which items haven't been clicked or viewed in discussions and comment notifications, Workzone will set unread comments with a gray shaded background and a blue dot alongside.
For example, an unread comment in the Notifications Inbox can look like this:

...and unread comments in the details tray can display a blue dot as well:

For both the inbox and comments shown in the details tray, the blue dot and gray background will disappear on items after clicking on the name/link for that item in the Notifications Inbox, and, in the case of the details tray, those same indicators will be removed from comments that have already been displayed.
