Dashboard Filtering

Workzone's ENHANCED DASHBOARD REPORTS provide filtering options that make it possible to override details such as the date range and frequency a report should display. You can read below how to modify the filtering an entire dashboard page, or one specific report.

Filtering a Specific Report

You can adjust the filtering of a report in the same overlay when adding a new report, or click the gear icon displaying in the top right of an existing report, as seen here:

Filtering an Entire Dashboard Page

Accessing the filtering options on an existing dashboard page is done by clicking the funnel icon at the top, to the right of the dashboard name:

The filtering options will display in an overlay where you can select both the desired Date Range and Frequency of data to display.

Altering the filters for an entire dashboard page will override any filters for the reports it contains. Also, only reports that have the same form of date filtering will be affected by altering the filtering for the entire dashboard page.

Date Range and Frequency Options

NOTE: The Frequency options are tied to the Date Range, requiring that option to designated first before relevant Frequency options are available to select. Specific Frequency options will be available based on the Date Range selection.

These are the Date Range options available to select:

  • Today (with an exclusive Frequency of Daily)
  • Yesterday (with an exclusive Frequency of Daily)
  • This Week (with an exclusive Frequency of Daily)

      • Yearly

When using the Rolling date range or Custom date range on task and time reports, the maximum display is for two years at a time (selecting a greater range than two years will default back to two years automatically). Rolling date range always includes the current period (Last 7 days includes today, for example). Also, only reports whose data is displayed over time periods will be affected by these (rolling or custom) date range filters.

Each frequency selection has limits to how many intervals of data can be displayed at a time, as follows:

  • Daily: 60 days
  • Weekly: 52 weeks
  • Monthly: 36 months
  • Quarterly: 20 quarters
  • Yearly: 10 years

Responsible and Category Filters

These are found when in the filtering options for particular reports ( not for an entire dashboard page), displaying report content matching the designated Responsible party or Category selections. Both boxes allow for multiple selections to be made.

Existing Filters Display

With filters enacted on a report, they are displayed below the title of the report, as (highlighted) in the example below:

.And the same is also true when filtering the entire dashboard page:

NOTE: Projects without dates (containing only dateless tasks) will not appear on any of the ENHANCED DASHBOARD REPORTS, and none of the filters change this behavior.
